Notice to Mariners

Commercial Vessel Permits

January 31, 2020

 

Commercial vessel operators are reminded to apply for their 2020 Commercial permits now to avoid any delays when intending to enter the New York State Canal System. Commercial permits are required for cargo-carrying vessels, passenger-carrying tour boats, and non-crewed hire boats, excluding vessel operators delivering recreational vessels.

Commercial operators requesting to be considered for use of the Canal System before May 15 are required to obtain a Non-Navigation Season Permit by contacting the Navigation Program Manager at (518) 461-0942 as far in advance as possible.
