Work Permits
Works permits may provide authorization for short-term access, and improvements to or physical alterations of Canal real property.
What are Event Permits
This permit process helps the Canal Corporation Real Property Management Team coordinate with police, fire, medical services, public works, and other departments to support your event. It also ensures compliance with local ordinances, safety codes, and insurance requirements.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their event permit request as early as possible, generally at least 90 days before the planned event date—to allow sufficient time for review and approval.
An Event Permit is required for activities that involve the following:
- Gatherings of people
- Anticipated Attendance
- Use of public streets, parks, or facilities
- Structures
- Amplified sound, stages, or temporary structures
- Amenities
- Vendors, food trucks, or alcohol service
