Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Gasport/Lockport/Tonawanda

September 8, 2015

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on the western Erie Canal according to the following schedule:

 

  • Wed, Sep 9th –Slayton Settlement Road (E-220), Gasport

  • Wed, Sep 9th –Canal Road (E-224), Lockport

  • Thu, Sep 10th –Day Road (E-225), Lockport

  • Fri, Sep 11th – North Adams Street (E-229), Lockport

  • Mon, Sep 14th –Matt Murphy Way (E-228), Lockport

  • Tue, Sep 15th –Exchange Street (E-230), Lockport

  • Wed, Sept 16th – Main Street (E-233), Lockport

  • Thu, Sep 17th – SR 31, Transit Street (E-234), Lockport

  • Fri, Sep 18th – Stevens Street (E-235), Lockport

  • Tue, Sep 22nd – SR 270, Campbell Road (E-241A), Amherst

  • Wed, Sep 23rd – SR 384, Delaware Street (E-247), Tonawanda

 

Channel width may be reduced and slight delays may occur.

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed when transiting these areas.
