Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Rome

July 28, 2015

 

Mariners are advised of intense use of the Erie Canal in Rome near Bellamy Harbor Park from Friday, July 31st at 5:00 PM until Sunday, August 2nd at 10:00 PM related to Canalfest.  Activities include waterski shows, a regatta, boat parade, fishing derby, nightly fireworks, and kayak demos.

 

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed when transiting this area and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
