Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Amsterdam

Mariners are advised of the continuation of bridge construction activities for the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook pedestrian bridge (E-19B) over the Erie Canal in Amsterdam. Vessels are to now use the south half of the channel, which has been delineated with auxiliary navigation buoys. The overhead clearance of the new bridge will be 24.6’.

 

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed when transiting this area.
