Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal - Waterford Flight

October 3, 2023

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-2 through E-6, Waterford Flight, is temporarily closed to navigation due to a mechanical repair at Lock E-6. It is anticipated that the Flight will reopen at noon today.

Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly.

Features along the eastern portion of the Erie Canal are listed by mileage at /Navigation-Information.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. All vessel operators should plan their trips to ensure they exit the system by that time.
