Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Schoharie

August 25, 2023

Mariners are advised that a group kayaking event will be held on Saturday, August 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will begin at the Schoharie State Boat Launch, proceed east through Erie Canal Lock E-12 in Tribes Hill, Lock E-11 in Amsterdam and exit the Canal at the Port Jackson Boat Launch and Park. There will be approximately 50-100 participants in the event.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.

Law enforcement boats will monitor vessel traffic.
