Champlain Canal – Mechanicville
August 14, 2023
Mariners are advised of lower-than-normal water levels above Champlain Lock C-3 (Mechanicville) beginning on the evening of Monday, August 14th and concluding on Friday, August 18th. New York State Electric Gas (NYSEG) plans to maintain a lower-than-normal headpond level in order to conduct maintenance and inspections on the dam and crest gates at Lock C-3. The reduced water levels are lower than normal but still within safe navigation limits for most vessels. The reduced levels may impact local docks. Vessels greater than 8 feet draft should contact the Canal Corporation at 518-449-6024.
