Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal – Phoenix to Oswego

August 8, 2023

Mariners are advised that the Oswego Canal from Lock O-1 in Phoenix to Lock O-7 in Oswego will be closed to navigation starting at 5:00 p.m. today, August 8th, due to high flows from recent heavy rainfall until further notice. Lock O-8 will remain operational until 10:00 p.m. in accordance with the normal operating schedule.

The Oswego Canal will reopen as water flows recede and conditions become safe for navigation to resume. Updates will follow.
