Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Niskayuna

July 14, 2023

Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Erie Canal on the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, July 18th  and Wednesday, July 19th  – Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory water intake – South side of the navigation channel between Buoy G "53" Buoy G "55".

The inspection areas will be marked by a dive boat and commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters should reduce speed and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting this area.
