Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Stillwater

July 13, 2022

Mariners are advised of shoaling South of Lock C-4 in Stillwater that has reduced depth of the navigation channel due to silt buildup in the vicinity of the mouth of the Hoosick River. Controlling depths of 7 feet may be shallower due to the temporary draw down on this level. Dredging activities are presently underway. Additionally, some boaters are reporting increased currents due to varying water levels.

Boaters are advised to use caution and appropriate safety measures due to the combination of potential hazards.
