Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Hudson Falls

October 9, 2020

Mariners are advised that a bridge inspection will be occurring on the Champlain Canal according to the following schedule:

•  Tuesday, 10/13/20 – Route 196, Dike Rd. Bridge (C-18) in Hudson Falls.  

This inspection will be conducted by an Under-Bridge Inspection Unit (Snooper vehicle) from the top of the bridge. A safety boat moving below the bridge. Inspectors may be contacted on Marine Channel 13 for clearance to pass.

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed after receiving clearance to pass.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. All recreational and commercial vessel operators should plan their trips to ensure they exit the system by that time. For more information, click here.
