Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Vischer Ferry

September 23, 2020

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Lock E-7 in Vischer Ferry, lower right (north) gate is inoperable. Boaters must enter and exit through a single gate when entering and exiting the lock from the east and tie up on the south wall. Please call the navigation manager at (518) 461-0942 in advance to discuss options for vessels wider than 20 feet.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. All recreational and commercial vessel operators should plan their trips to ensure they exit the system by that time. For more information, click here.
