Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Marcy

September 15, 2020

Mariners are advised that a channel encroachment exists due to dredging operations at Gridley Creek in the Town of Marcy. The dredging area is between Buoy R "568" and Buoy G "577", west of Erie Canal Lock E-19 in Frankfort. Dredging operations have concluded at Budlong Creek in Schuyler.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      When transiting this area boaters should use the south side of the navigation channel. Use caution and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph.

Please contact the dredge operator on Marine Channel 13 before proceeding through the area.
