Erie Canal – New London/Sylvan Beach
August 5, 2020
Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-21 and Lock E-22 in New London will be closed to westbound traffic due to bridge construction activities on Thursday, August 6th, at the site of the Higginsville Road Bridge E-60 over the Erie Canal. Eastbound boaters exiting Oneida Lake from Sylvan Beach are advised to remain west of the Cove Rd. Bridge E-61 in the town of Verona during this period.
It is anticipated that the locks will be reopened at 2:00 pm on Thursday, allowing vessels to pass. Plan itineraries accordingly.
