NOTICE TO MARINERS
UPDATED LOCK OPERATING SCHEDULE – FINGER LAKES REGION
July 2, 2020
The New York State Canal Corporation announced today that the following locks are scheduled to open on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. for the 2020 navigation season.
Canal Lock Municipality Opening Date Hours
Erie E-26 Clyde July 3 7 am – 7 pm
September 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-27 Lyons July 3 7 am – 7 pm
September 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie E-28A Lyons July 3 7 am – 7 pm
September 17 7 am – 5 pm
Construction and maintenance activities continue at several locks across the system. The projected opening date for those locations is noted below in bold font.

Cayuga-Seneca CS-4 Waterloo July 17 7 am – 10 pm
September 17 7 am – 5 pm
Erie Canal – May’s Point to Lyons
Mariners are advised of a lower than normal navigation pool between Lock E-25 in May’s Point and Lock E-28A in Lyons that may expose hazards in the navigation channel. This is a temporary situation and full pool is expected in the next 48-72 hours.
Boaters should also be aware that some Aids to Navigation have not been installed yet.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation on October 14, 2020.
