Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Mohawk

September 23, 2019

Mariners are advised that dredging operations are in progress in the vicinity of Guard Gate #5,  in the Town of Mohawk, Herkimer County. The dredging area is from buoy G515 to buoy G521, between Erie Canal Lock E-18 in Jacksonburg and Lock E-19 in Frankfort. Dredging operations are expected to continue until the end of this week, September 27th. Boaters should be alert for dredge equipment in the area, use caution and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph.

Please contact the dredge operator on Marine Channel 13 before proceeding through the area.
