Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Oneida/Herkimer/Montgomery Counties

September 17, 2019

Amended

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections are in progress on the eastern Erie Canal between through Friday, October 4th on the following bridges:

  • Cove Road (E-61) in the Town of Verona

  • Moss Road (E-39) in the Town of Schuyler

  • Service Road (E-29) in the Town of Danube

  • NY Route 80 Bridge (E-25) in the Town of Minden

  • CR65 River Road (E-27) in the Town of Minden

  • Route 30 (E-23) in the Town of Mohawk

  • County Road 27 (E-22) in the Town of Mohawk

Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur due to a tugboat and barge moving below each bridge being inspected.

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas.
