Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Onondaga Lake

September 12, 2019

Mariners are advised of overhead conductor replacement work by National Grid over the Erie Canal at the Onondaga Lake Outlet. This work will occur from Monday, September 16th until the end of the day on Wednesday, September 18th. Conductor replacement work will take place between the New York State Thruway Bridge (E-74A) and the Long Branch Rd. Bridge (E-74).

Spotters will alert workers of approaching vessels who will suspend work to allow vessels to pass under the bridges and through the work area. Mariners must reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when traversing the work area.
