Canal section reopening: Lock E24 Lock E25 & Lock C/S-1
Notice to Mariners
Erie Canal & Cayuga-Seneca Canals
June 28, 2019
Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-24 Baldwinsville & E-25 Mays Point, along with Cayuga-Seneca Canal Lock CS-1 Cayuga (commonly referred to as “Mud Lock”) will reopen tomorrow, June 29th at 7:00 AM with a strict “No Wake”, no more than 5 MPH speed restriction on the Erie Canal between Locks E-24 & E-25 and on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal between Lock CS-1 and its junction with the Erie Canal.
At that point the entire New York State Canal System will be open to navigation.
Mariners are also reminded to watch for debris and off-station Aids to Navigation sometimes associated with higher water events.
