Bridge pipe damage: Champlain Canal below Lock C12 Whitehall

Notice to Mariners

June 12, 2019,

Champlain Canal – Whitehall

Mariners are advised that a broken section of drainage pipe is hanging below the Saunders Street Bridge (C-30) over the Champlain Canal in Whitehall, just south of Lock C-12 Whitehall. The section of drainage pipe extends approximately four feet over the center of the navigation channel.

Boaters should proceed with caution when transiting this area and use either side of the navigation channel to avoid the hazard.
