Eastern Canal Opening Update

May 20, 2019

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-8 in Scotia, Lock E- 9 in Rotterdam, and Lock E-10 in Cranesville will open today at noon. Mariners may proceed as far west as Riverlink Park in Amsterdam. Crews will continue to work westward, clearing debris and setting buoys over the next several days.

Hudson River conditions still preclude our ability to set buoys in the Champlain Canal for the next several days. We will provide additional updates as conditions improve.
