Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Brockport

July 19, 2018

 

Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal Lift Bridge E-181 (Park Ave) in Brockport that had been reported inoperable in a Notice to Mariners earlier today is back in operation. 

This structure, the eastern Brockport lift bridge, has had recent minor intermittent mechanical/electrical issues, a long-term fix for which is being researched.  Until fully resolved, mariners are encouraged to incorporate the possibility of a one to two-hour delay at this location into their itineraries.  The phone number for this lift bridge is (585) 637-0460.  Its twin lift bridge, E-182 (Main St), 900’ west and operated by the same person, can be reached at (585) 637-4530.  It is recommended to call ahead for a status update if running on a critically tight schedule.
