Mariners are advised that during the Waterford Steamboat Meet, use of Waterford Harbor floating docks will be restricted to participating vessels; limited docking on the terminal wall, which offers no services, will remain available. The event will take place from 8:00 AM, Thursday, July 5th to 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 8th. During this time, alternative docking for commercial and pleasure craft will be available between Locks E-2 and E-4 in the Waterford Flight, as directed by the Lock Operator who can be reached at (518) 237-0810. The area will remain open to through-traffic, but commercial traffic requiring clearance through the event must call (518) 461-0942, at least 24 hours in advance.
A 50-yard security zone around participating vessels will be in effect during the Waterford Steamboat parade from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, July 6th. The Steamboat parade will start at the Federal Lock in Troy and proceed to the Waterford Harbor.
Additionally, a 50-yard security zone will be in effect around the fireworks staging barge located off of the south lower approach wall of Lock E-2 on Saturday, July 7th. Anchoring will be permitted in the harbor on Saturday during the fireworks east of the Pebble’s Island Road Bridge (E-1).
Mariners are requested to maintain a safe distance from emergency vessels.
