Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal & Champlain Canal

June 22, 2018

 

Mariners are advised of the following lock wall attachment requirements and conditions:

 

  • Champlain Canal lock C3 – East wall; north/upbound - starboard side; windy conditions only.

  • Champlain Canal Lock C12 – East wall; south/upbound - port side; always.

  • Erie Canal E17 – South wall; west/upbound - port side; always.

  • Erie Canal Lock 19 – South wall; west/upbound - port side; until further notice.

  • Erie Canal Lock 22 – North wall; west/downbound - starboard side, east/upbound - port side; through 2018.

 

Lock information, including: mileages, addresses (with Google Maps links), lift heights, attachment mechanisms, phone numbers, and coordinates are listed at /Boating-Information

Features along the eastern portion of the Erie Canal are listed by mileage at /Navigation-Information
