Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal & Cayuga-Seneca Canals

August 3, 2017

 

Mariners are advised that the temporary 5 MPH speed restriction between Erie Canal Locks E-24 Baldwinsville & E-25 Mays Point, along with Cayuga-Seneca Canal Lock CS-1 Cayuga (commonly referred to as “Mud Lock”) has been lifted.

Mariners are reminded that they are responsible for their wakes and any damage or injury that it may cause.

Allowable speeds along the New York State Canal System can be found at /Boating-Information and /Navigation-Information/Canal-Map

 

Locks E-24, E-25, and CS-1 appear on charts 14786 E-10, E-4, and CS-5 can be found at spa, spa, and spa.

Features along the Central Erie Canal and main line of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal can be found at /Navigation-Information and /Navigation-Information
