Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Herkimer

July 6, 2017

 

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Lock E-18 Jacksonburgh has reopened.

 

At this time the following Erie Canal Locks remain closed while crews remove debris from canal structures from the recent heavy rainfall and runoff event: 

  • E-14 Canajoharie

  • E-15 Ft. Plain

  • E-16 St. Johnsville

  • E-17 Little falls

Debris clearance and buoy resetting is still expected to take a few days.  The rest of the New York State Canal System is open to navigation.
