Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Town of Amsterdam

June 19, 2017

Mariners are advised of a 64’ pleasure vessel grounded north of the channel between Erie Canal buoys R’246” & R “248”. Mariners are to steer clear of this vessel and to pass at idle speed.

Mariners are additionally advised that the pool elevation between Locks E11 Amsterdam and E12 Tribes Hill is being raised to assist in freeing this vessel.
