Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal & Oswego Canal

June 8, 2017

 

Mariners are advised of the tentative reopenings of eastern Erie Canal sections and the Oswego Canal:

  • Erie Canal Locks E-8 through E-16 – Friday, June 9th at 1:00 PM

  • Erie Canal Locks E-18 through E-20 – Friday, June 9th at 1:00 PM

  • Erie Canal Guard Gate 3 & Lock E-17 – Saturday, June 10th, time TBD

  • Oswego Canal – this weekend, day & time TBD

 

The dam between Erie Canal Guard Gate 3 and Lock E-17 is clogged with debris from the last storm event that is hindering control of this navigation pool’s elevation.  Crews are currently clearing this debris.
