Notice to Mariners

Oswego Canal

June 6, 2017

Mariners are advised that flows on the Oswego Canal are currently at 12,400 cubic feet per second, which is near the threshold of 13,000 CFS at which some buoys might start to come off station.

Mariners are reminded that this waterway is a canalized, braided river with several islands along the way, the shallower backwaters around which are visually distinguishable because they are generally narrower and more meandering than the main navigation channel.
