Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Scotia to Ft. Plain

June 6, 2017

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-8 Scotia through E-15 Fort Plain will be closed at 1 PM today due to high current. Based on weather forecasts and hydraulic modeling, it is anticipated that this closure will last for about two days.

Vessels in currently in navigation pools bound by these locks may call the Navigation Program Manager at (518) 461-0942 for direction to an appropriate harbor.
