Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Towns of Niskayuna & Clifton Park

Mariners are advised of reports of debris in the channel at Erie Canal Bridge E-8 (Balltown Road, State Route 146). Crews have been dispatched.

Mariners are reminded that this is the site of an active bridge replacement construction project, nearby a marina (Schenectady Yacht Club), and the home site of competitive rowing organizations. Mariners are to always proceed through this area with extreme caution at “no wake” speeds.
