Update
Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Erie and Oswego Canals on the following schedule:
- Wednesday, August 12th - Erie Canal Lock E-23 in Brewerton Guard Gate and Southwest Approach Wall, Lock E-24 in Baldwinsville Taintor Gate, and Southwest Approach Wall. Oswego Canal Lock O-8 Southwest Approach Wall.
- Thursday, August 13th – Erie Canal Lock E-23 in Brewerton Guard Gate, Erie Canal Lock E-24 in Baldwinsville Southwest Approach Wall and Taintor Gate, Oswego Canal Lock O-7 in Oswego Northwest Approach Wall, Oswego Canal Lock O-7 in Oswego Southeast Guide Piers.
The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph. Boaters must avoid inspection areas.
