Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Waterford to Stillwater

July 30, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that Champlain Canal Lock C-1 in Waterford to Lock C-4 in Stillwater is closed to navigation until further notice due to high water levels and excessive debris from recent heavy rainfall.

Boaters should use caution on the remaining open sections of the Champlain Canal due to high water levels, excessive debris and reduced overhead clearances. Updates will follow.

Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly.
