Mariners are advised of underwater inspections occurring on the Erie and Cayuga Seneca Canals on the following schedule:
- Monday, July 20th – Cayuga Seneca Canal Lock CS-4 in Waterloo – Taintor Gate, north of the lock.
- Tuesday, July 21st – Geneva Street Retaining Wall – Below Erie Canal Lock E-27 in Lyons and on the south side of the Canal, east of Geneva Street Bridge (E-100).
- Wednesday, July 22nd – Cayuga Seneca Canal Lock CS-1 in Cayuga – Taintor Gate.
- Thursday, July 23rd – Webster Street (E-248) in Tonawanda and Seneca Falls Power Station at Cayuga Canal Lock CS 2/3 in Seneca Falls - Abutments and Piers
The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph. Boaters must avoid inspection areas.
