Champlain Canal – Halfmoon and Waterford

July 15, 2026

Update

 

Mariners are advised of changes in underwater inspections occurring on the Champlain Canal on the following schedule:

  • Thursday, July 16th – Champlain Canal Lock C-2 in Halfmoon – Lock Chamber and surrounding area and Lock C-1 in Waterford – Lock Chamber and surrounding area.
  • Friday, July 17th – Champlain Canal Lock C-1 in Waterford – Taintor Gate.

 

The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph. Boaters must avoid inspection areas.
