Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Brewerton

July 6, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that they will experience delays at US Route 11 Bridge (E-64) over the Erie Canal in Brewerton starting on Tuesday, July 7^th due to the bridge removal. A lit barge with white obstruction markers will be stationed on the south side of the navigation channel with workboats working beneath the bridge. Spotters will be stationed on both sides of the bridge. The barge will be moved to the north side of the navigation channel during the week. This bridge is located between Buoy R "460" and R "462". Boaters must come to a full stop, sound horns, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph. Bridge removal is expected to be complete by the end of the day on Friday, July 10^th. This schedule is weather dependent.

Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly.
