Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Brewerton

July 2, 2025

 

Mariners are advised of a fireworks display on the Oneida Lake/Oneida River between the I-81 (E-63A) & US-11 (E-64) bridges on Friday, July 3rd at dusk.

Boaters transiting through the area are to maintain a 125-yard fallout radius security zone from the fireworks source, travel at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph, be aware of denser than usual traffic and anchored spectator vessels in the area. Law enforcement will be present to monitor vessel traffic.

Erie Canal Lock E-23 in Brewerton will remain open until midnight to accommodate spectator vessels leaving the event.
