Notice to Mariners

Erie Canal – Schenectady

July 1, 2026

 

 

Mariners are advised of a fireworks display in the vicinity of Rivers Casino and Resort, in the navigation channel, on Thursday, July 2nd at dusk. The fireworks barge will be anchored in the navigation channel between buoy R "84” and buoy R "86”. A 125-yard fallout radius security zone will be in effect around the fireworks staging barge during the event. Boaters transiting through the area are to maintain a safe distance from the fireworks source, travel at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5 mph and be aware of denser than usual traffic and anchored spectator boats in the area. Law enforcement will be present to monitor boat traffic.
