Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Vischer Ferry to Colonie

June 26, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that a paddling event will take place on Saturday, June 27^th, at

9:00 am with a rain date of Sunday, June 28^th. Approximately 250 paddle crafts will pass through Erie Canal Lock E-7 in Vischer Ferry and continue to the Colonie Town Park, approximately one mile

east of Northway Bridge I-87 (E-7A).

Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 mph.              

Law enforcement boats will monitor vessel traffic.
