  Notice to Mariners

Eastern Erie Canal – Waterford and Rotterdam

June 18, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that bridge inspections will be occurring on structures over the Erie Canal on the following schedule:

• Monday, June 22^nd– Pebbles Island Bridge (E-1) over the Erie Canal in Waterford.
• Tuesday, June 23^rd - Route 890 Bridge (E-14A) over the Erie Canal in Rotterdam.

 

Channel width may be reduced and delays may occur due to a bucket boat and skiff moving below each bridge being inspected.

Boaters should reduce speed, sound horns, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when transiting these areas and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
