Eastern Erie Canal – Amsterdam

Mariners are advised of a waterski jump with a single white light attached within the navigation channel on the Erie Canal in Amsterdam, just east of the New York Route 30 Bridge (E-19A) over the Erie Canal.

Boaters who use the Amsterdam Riverlink Park dock should be aware of excessive wakes generated by ski boats and skiers in the area. Ski sessions are scheduled throughout the months of June, July and August, and may occur at any time.

When waterski events are underway, boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching the area and under no circumstances shall any vessel exceed 5 MPH.
