Notice to Mariners

Western Erie Canal – Palmyra

June 4, 2026

 

Mariners are advised of reduced depth of the navigation channel to 3 feet or less due to shoaling from recent rainfall east of Erie Canal Lock E-29 in Palmyra and west of Buoy R "772". Danger buoys have been placed at the isolated shoaling area. Boaters should stay south of the buoys to avoid the area where depth is reduced. Boaters should exercise caution in this area.
