Notice to Mariners
Western Erie Canal – Rochester
June 3, 2026
Mariners are advised of shoaling from recent rainstorms that have reduced the depth of the Erie Canal to 4 feet to 5 feet in some areas of the Genesee River Crossing in Rochester. Vessels that require a deeper draft should plan accordingly. Dredging operations will begin on June 8, 2026.
