NOTICE TO MARINERS

Eastern Erie Canal – Scotia to Fort Plain

May 31, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that the water level from Erie Canal Lock E-13 in Yosts to Lock E-15 in Fort Plain are experiencing low water levels of up to 2 feet below the published navigation pool, due to moveable dam issues and low water supply. Boaters should expect drafts of 10-11 feet in this area. Boaters with deeper draft vessels should use caution.

Erie Canal Lock E-8 in Scotia through Lock E-12 in Tribes Hill that were announced in a previous Notice to Mariners are now at normal navigation pool.
