Notice to Mariners

Champlain Canal – Whitehall

May 27, 2026

 

Mariners are advised that they may experience intermittent delays due to bridge repair activities at Ryder Road Bridge (C-27) over the Champlain Canal in Whitehall. The bridge is located approximately one mile north of Champlain Canal Lock C-11 in Comstock. This work will start on Thursday, May 28^th and is expected to continue until the end of the day on Friday, June 26^th. Steel beams will be placed under the bridge from a barge located in the navigation channel. Boaters should reduce speed, stop all forward motion, blow horns, and proceed at a "No-Wake" speed of no more than 5mph when traversing the area.

Boaters should plan their itineraries accordingly.
