Eastern Erie Canal – Rome

Mariners are advised of reduced depths due to shoaling from recent rainfall in the Rome section of the Canal that has reduced depth of the navigation channel due to silt buildup with controlling depths of 6 feet or less in these areas of the channel.
Boaters should use caution when traversing these areas and avoid confluences of the following tributaries and areas.
- Indian Castle (Mile Post 74.63)
- Moss Road (Mile Post 92.51)
- West of Erie Canal Lock E-19 in Frankfort (Mile Post 95.04)
- Sterling Creek (Mile Post 95.16)
- Realls Creek (Mile Post 100.81)
- Nine Mile Creek (Mile Post 108.69)
- Fish Creek (Mile Post 128.44)
