Champlain Canal – Whitehall
October 31, 2025
Mariners are advised of an underwater inspection occurring on the Champlain Canal on the following schedule:
- Monday, November 3rd – Lock C-12 in Whitehall, northeast approach wall.
The inspection area will be marked by a dive boat and commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Boaters must come to a full stop, use caution, and proceed at a "No Wake" speed, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025. All commercial and recreational vessel operators must plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time.
