Notice to Mariners

Cayuga-Seneca Canal – Waterloo

October 24, 2025

 

Mariners are advised that a rowing regatta will be taking place on Saturday, October 25^th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Approximately 60 rowing shells accompanied by 5 coaching boats will be participating in the event. The regatta course will begin at Buoy G "109", just east of Hidden Harbor Marina and finish at Buoy G "125", just east of Barrett Marine.

Mariners should reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed when approaching event participants, and under no circumstances exceed 5 mph.  Slight delays may occur. Law enforcement will be present.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025. All commercial and recreational vessel operators must plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time.
