Eastern Erie Canal – Amsterdam
October 19, 2025
Mariners are advised of underwater bridge inspection activities on Monday, October 20th, beneath the Amsterdam Pedestrian Bridge (E-19B) over the Erie Canal. A pontoon boat and work boat will encroach on and be moving in the navigation channel beneath the bridge. The inspection areas will be marked by commercial diver’s flags while divers are in the water. Channel width may be reduced, and slight delays may occur.
Boaters transiting this area must reduce speed, stop all forward motion and proceed at a "No Wake" speed of not more than 5mph.

The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025. All commercial and recreational vessel operators must plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time.
